Applications of BBa_K2825002
BBa K2825002 is able to report micromolar differences in PCA concentration when transcribing a GFP reporter in BL21 DE3 E. coli.
PCA is a byproduct of TPA degradation. PcaU was used to detect 22.5 uM TPA in media by converting TPA to PCA and detecting PCA with BBa K2825002 coupled to GFP as a reporter in BL21 E. coli.
BBa K2825002 is more sensitive in BL21 E. coli than DH5a E. coli. A version of PcaU optimized for use in P. putida has been created by Jha et. al. 2017.
